Allure of the Seas joins Sister Oasis of the Seas

On Oct 29 Royal Caribbean International took delivery of the newest addition to its fleet from the Turku shipyards in Finland of STX EUROPE AS. Allure of the Seas joines sister Oasis of the Seas as the world’s largest cruise ship. With Captain Hernan Zini at the helm, Allure of the Seas will depart Turku Oct 30, starting a 13-day voyage for its US debut in Port Everglades on Nov. 11. Port Everglade, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. is the future home-port. Fans and enthusiasts can follow the Allure of the Seas transatlantic crossing through daily on-board webisodes.
The official naming ceremony for Allure of the Seas is to take place on Nov.28 during a one-night benefit celebration for the United Way chapters of Miami-Dade and Broward counties, among other charities. A special four-night sailing on Dec. 1 will call at the cruise line’s private beach destination of Labadee, along the north coast of Haiti. Allure of the Seas’ inaugural seven-night Western Caribbean itinerary will depart on Dec. 5. 2010.
